... I met Zintis by chance while vacationing with my sister at the mineral spa, Rio Caliente, near Guadalajara, Mexico. I have been practicing yoga for several years, and was looking forward to continuing while on vacation. Zintis' class was full every day, with students of all ages, and all abilities. He took the time to explain, and sometimes cajole, the students new to yoga through their practice. At the same time, he offered modifications so that those who had an established practice could find and work in a challenging place. Zintis' voice is soft, sure and very calming; his chanting is musical, and his instructions are well timed, simple, and easy to understand -- together creating a class which is peaceful, relaxed, and enjoyable.
Rio Caliente is the perfect place to begin or deepen your yoga practice. Last year was my first visit, and I made many, many friends. Early in my stay, I was amazed at how many people have returned to this spa year after year, but by the time I had to leave -- I understood. You will meet the friendliest people from all walks of life and income levels, and for your stay you will share your life with them. The amenities are rustic (perfect for finding peace and relaxation) , the cuisine excellent (I am a certified carnivore, and I loved the vegetarian cuisine -- although I will admit to slightly cheating during our shopping excursion in town), the landscape beautiful, the mineral pools heaven.........and I can't even begin to describe my love for the natural, underground wet sauna (with a river running through it!), build into a hillside near the pool. I look forward to my vacation this year with Zintis at Rio Caliente. We've talked about doing yoga on the mountaintop, or maybe in the steam at the source of the hot river, Rio Caliente. I forgot to ask him about under the starlight, or around a campfire at the patio. I'm hoping to visit for both of the weeks he is offering. If you would like to contact me directly, I'd love to tell you about my first trip. I hope to meet you in Mexico this winter!!!!
